Shipping Returns and Courier Costs

At James Hargreaves Clearance, we understand the importance of fast and affordable shipping. That's why we offer FREE & FAST standard parcel shipping* on orders over £50 within mainland Great Britain.

For heavy or bulky items, we have a TPN Pallet shipping fee to ensure your order is delivered securely. Additionally, items marked as fragile will incur a £14.99 shipping fee for added protection during transit.

To provide transparency, all shipping fees will be clearly shown on the checkout page after you enter your shipping address.

For next day deliveries, please note that the cut-off time is weekdays at 2pm. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on the following weekday. Depending on the size of the products in your order, we work with different carriers such as Royal Mail Tracked service (24hr and 48hr), FedEx (24hr and 24hr specified daypart), and the Pallet Network (24hr) to ensure prompt delivery.

On average, orders should arrive at most locations within 2-3 working days, with many arriving on the next weekday if your order is placed before noon. Please be aware that we do not process orders over the weekend or on public holidays. We believe in giving our team time to rest and recharge, so they can provide you with the best service possible. Although normally accurate, our 3rd party delivery companies do not guaranteed their stated delivery time length - all courier companies occasionally have delays especially around Christmas.

*Please note that our definition of a standard parcel is an item or items that can be sent by courier and weigh under 20kg. These items should also not be fragile, as additional shipping fees may apply for fragile items.

Delivery and checking your products

Track your order with ease: Once your order is dispatched, we will provide you with a tracking number, giving you peace of mind throughout the delivery process.

Inspect your products upon arrival: To ensure your complete satisfaction, please carefully examine the product packaging for any signs of transit damage upon delivery. Should you identify any issues, please reach out to us immediately. While we encourage you to open the boxes and inspect the products, please note that if you decide to return them later, we reserve the right to adjust your refund to account for any decrease in value caused by mishandling or damage to the item and its packaging. So please open product packaging carefully.

Wait to schedule any installation services: Please do not book any plumbers or tradespeople until you have received and inspected your products. We cannot be held responsible for any third-party costs or charges which you incur due to non-delivery of an order, or orders that have not been checked on delivery.

International delivery beyond Mainland Great Britain: If you reside outside Mainland Great Britain, kindly get in touch with us to obtain accurate shipping prices specific to your location. We are happy to assist you in any way we can.

James Hargreaves Returns Policy

If you inform us within 14 days of receiving your item, you may return most unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.)

If you notify us within 14 days of receiving your item, you have the option to return most unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. In case of our error (such as receiving an incorrect or defective item), we will cover the return shipping costs.

Please note that any Boiler can only be returned if the packaging has not been opened. Do not open the packaging until you are certain that you wish to keep the product. 

Returns must be requested through this website: To request a return, please log into our website using your email address and go to the "Account" section. From there, navigate to the "Orders" tab and select the specific product you wish to return. Follow the instructions provided on the page. It is important to arrange the return through our website and not to return or drop off the item without prior authorisation as we will not be able to process your return.

Once we receive your return request, we will promptly provide instructions on how to return the items using our designated carrier, drop-off location, or, if convenient, at a James Hargreaves Plumbing Supplies Branch.

Please note that if the return is not due to our error, we will charge a collection fee based on our shipping costs, plus a handling fee equivalent to 5% of the item value. For further details, please refer to our Conditions of Sale page.

After handing over the package to the return shipper, you can expect to receive your refund within two weeks. This time period includes transit time for us to receive the return from the shipper (up to 6 business days), our processing time upon receipt (up to 3 business days), and your bank's processing time for the refund (up to 3 business days). In most cases, we process the refund within one working day of receiving your return.

It's important to note that we reserve the right to reduce the refund amount if the value of the products has decreased due to mishandling on your part.
